Ruby Beach a Lonely Planet Top 100 Beach in the World
Well known travel publisher Lonely Planet named Ruby Beach as one of the top 100 beaches of the world in its new book Lonely Planet Best Beaches: 100 of the World’s Most Incredible Beaches. Ruby Beach was only one of two Pacific Northwest beaches to make the list … the other being Cannon Beach in Oregon.
Cedar Creek flows out onto Ruby Beach, Olympic National Park, Washington
While I can think of better wilderness beaches out on Washington’s north coast, Ruby Beach does give you a good taste of that Pacific Coast wildness with only a short 1/4 miles stroll from the parking lot. This makes it particularly attractive to families with small children, beachcombers, and couples decked out in nice clothes for proposal/engagement/wedding/honeymoon photo shoots. It is also a great short stop for those traveling the Highway 101 loop around the Olympic Peninsula.
